Filtration membranes

The module consists of bundled, tube shaped ultra-filtration membranes, which are poured into an encased tube at both ends. The degree of separation affected by the membrane wall amounts to 0.02 µm and anything that is larger than this will be removed from the water. The untreated water flows into the membranes as a result of the type of overall construction used for the module.

In order to realise the cut-off effect, the direct hydraulic or electro-mechanical (depending on the system) through flow will be shut-off and the water will be fed out to the outside through the wall in the membrane. The purified water will be collected by the module’s encased surrounding tube and fed through the side connection and into the supply system as absolutely bacteria- and virus-free water. The cleaning intervals are controlled on a load dependent basis.

During the cleaning process, which only lasts for a few seconds, the water can flow through the capillaries unobstructed at a high flow speed and this removes any deposits from the inner surface. The process is supported (system specific) by an additional backflushing process that uses purified water taken from parallel in-line modules.
